Afrikaner bond
This site has made some progress recently, but is not yet complete. There is more to follow!
Welcome to the virtual home of the Afrikanerbond!
The Afrikanerbond is an organisation principally of and for the Afrikaans community in South Africa.
Our aim is to make a contribution towards making South Africa the best possible place for all its people.
The Afrikanerbond has its origin in the distant past. (Read more here about the background of the Afrikanerbond – also about its past as a secret organisation.) - [coming soon!]
After about a century since its inception, became necessary to modernise. Thus, in 2006 the Afrikanerbond was transformed into a brand-new organisation with a new constitution, new structures and aims relevant to the times we live in.
The new Afrikanerbond strives to mobilise the skills and enthusiasm that exist within the Afrikaans community for the benefit of the whole country - in order to help create the best possible place for all its people.
The way in which the Afrikanerbond aims to accomplish this through –
- identifing problems and opportunities in the South African society
- examining and analysing them thoroughly
- developing ideas for addressing these problems and utilising opportunities
- doing that which is within our power and means
- negotiating with other organisations, including authorities at all levels, to join together in implementing identified solutions.
Do you have a contribution to make?
Even people who do not belong to the Afrikaans community in South Africa are welcome to assist in the pursuit of the best possible life for all the people of South Africa. Although membership of the Afrikanerbond is limited to those whose mother tongue is Afrikaans, and who accept the Bible as the fundamental guide to life, non-members are most welcome to co-operate with us if they have a contribution to make.
Talk to us – become part of the solution!
